Manic is a highly configurable stereo VCA and waveshaper. It supports dual mono, mono to stereo and true stereo formats. Its wave shaping capabilities allow you to delve into stereo wave folding and explore the realms of “classic” and clipped ring modulation. It allows you to sculpt detailed, textured stereo images through per-channel saturation, giving you a whole host of ways to color your sound.

Manic’s VCAs are designed to operate as either unipolar or bipolar units, adding ring modulation capabilities to its versatility. The module is also equipped with two different types of clipping and wavefolding circuits: Shape 1 comes along with tanH and Serge-style wavefolding while Shape 2 is – of course – a buchlaesque affair. Both channels are tweaked to also work in conjunction as “stereo pair”. Supporting both audio and CV signals, Manic serves as a flexible tool that offers a wide range of sound shaping techniques in just 8HP.
