Module for converting light intensity into control voltage.
With the A-179-2, continuous control voltages and gate signals can be generated by means of a light-sensitive resistor. Conveniently, the module is equipped with some clever functions to get as much as possible out of your old misfiring neon tube.
There are:
- ext. Sens.: here you can connect an external sensor, which disables the internal sensor.
- CV Offset: controller for setting the output voltage at a certain brightness (e.g. output = 0V at complete darkness)
- CV Level: Controller for setting the sensitivity of the generated output voltage (i.e. how much a difference in brightness affects the output voltage)
- Gate Threshold: Controller for setting the threshold above which a gate signal is triggered, an internal jumper is used to determine whether the gate signal is derived from the CV Out+ or CV Out- voltage.
- CV Out+: positive control voltage output, an increase of the brightness causes an increase of the voltage
- CV Out-: negative control voltage output, an increase of brightness causes a decrease of voltage.
