The Eowave Supamix (=Sum Pan Mix) is a versatile and compact mixer module equipped with a lot of useful features.
The first two mixer channels have a mono input and manual panning potentiometers. The next two inputs are also mono input channels, but can be panned with control voltages. In addition, there are two stereo input channels. All channels have a volume control and a click-free mute button. Additionally there is a header on the back to transform the L output into a stereo TRS jack out.
That’s all well and good, and for a six-channel stereo mixer in 10HP, it’s already a pretty good feature set. But there’s one more feature that’s pretty special. In the lower right corner is a small button and input jack called Swap. The swap input changes the state of the muting. There are several modes for this:
Mute swap modes:
- Scene change gate: Reverse the mutes states when a gate is high.
- Scene change trig: reverse the mutes state when trigged (or if the swap button is pushed)
- Binary counter: CV input between 0 and 5v will correspond to a 6 bit binary counter.
- At 0V the mutes will be all active, at 5V they will be all deactivated. And it will count as follow :100000 010000 110000 and so on.
- Randomizer: Trig to randomize the mutes. You can change the probability of having the mutes activated by using a trigger between 2-5V.
- Sequencer: Trig to go one step further. It reverses the current step mute state.
- State rotation: Rotate the mute state. At 0V there is no rotation, at 5v there is a full cycle rotation. This shifts the mutes state (the last one goes to first one)
