Lovely, snappy snare drum to build yourself, from mki x es.EDU with very detailed and instructive building instructions.
Erica Synths and Moritz Klein have developed a series of educational DIY kits under the brand name mki x es.EDU with one specific goal in mind: to teach people with little-to-no prior experience how to design analog synthesizer circuits from scratch. What you’ll find in the box is not simply meant to be soldered together and then disappear in your rack. Instead, they want to take you through the circuit design process step by step, explaining every choice they’ve made and how it impacts the finished module.
This DIY kit shows you how to build an mki x es.edu DIY snare drum. In addition to the kick and hihat module, you can now add a snare drum module to your self-built modular drum kit! This crisp snare sounds just as versatile and good as the other modules in the series. With CV control over Tune and the Snappy parameter as well as an additional Accent input, you can play a dynamic snare in parallel with kick and hihats.
Features
- Manual and CV controlled Tune
- Tune CV depth attenuator
- Manual Attack and Decay control
- Manual and CV Snappy (noise and tone crossfade) control
- Accent input
Please note: The do-it-yourself kit includes all the parts necessary to build this module. This is beginners kit, you need very few prior experience and basic hand tools (small screwdriver, soldering iron, etc.). We cannot assist with assembling/soldering the kit and take no responsibility if the kit does not work after self-assembly.
