Instruo Cèis 2 — the popular analog ADSR envelope refined, now with improved logic and a couple of other extras!
Cèis 2 is the upgraded version of the original Cèis, one of the first modules that Instruo released back in 2019. This follow-up offers even more refined control for shaping sounds. Like its predecessor, it’s an analog ADSR envelope generator that allows you to control the Attack, Decay, Sustain, and Release stages of your sound. For the uninitiated — these stages define how your sound evolves over time, from the initial strike to its fade-out.
New in Cèis 2 is its improved logic circuit, making the timing and control of each stage even more precise. You still get the same CV control over each of the four stages, meaning you can modify them on the fly using external signals. This version also introduces a re-trigger input, letting you reset the envelope mid-way through its cycle, which can be handy for creating complex rhythms or similar effects.
Cèis 2 continues to offer gate outputs for each segment and a combined trigger output that reacts whenever a new stage begins. It is still possible to adjust the envelope shape from smooth (linear) to sharp (exponential), and with its fully analog design it responds instantly to any changes you make.
Instruo’s Cèis 2 takes what was great about the original and adds more precision, making what was already a great module even better.
