Incus Iteritas Alia is a brand new member of the ever-growing Iteritas family, delivering FM-based, additive wave mangling.
Phew, Incus Iteritas came a long way! Starting out as a percussion voice, the module is now greater than the sum of its parts, mastering cross-genre kick creations, sawing out fierce blaring snares as well as metallic drum hits. His repertoire also includes FM-like plucks and analog basslines.
Numerous sound manipulations can be carried out with an extensive range of knobs and patch points. The sound creator is a wild mix of waveshaping, saturation, wavefolding, FM and additive synthesis.
Among other things, there are knobs for pitch, shape (waveform), temper (wavefolding) and the envelope parameters attack and time. Two switches can be used to change the sound intensity (Grind, Impact, Heavy) and the pitch within three frequency ranges (Bass, Alto, Treble). In relation to the bass mode, the pitch is shifted up by either two (alto) or four octaves (treble). The hit button can be used to trigger the Incus Iteritas Alter and there is also an envelope output in addition to the audio output.
Alia (a sea creature or a derivation of Halia, the Greek word for salt) is a 10HP oscillator platform that has something to offer for every Eurorack fan. Buy one module and get the functionality of many! By simply swapping firmware via USB between modules in the Alia universe, your Alia module can become, among other things, the all-purpose drum weapon Basimilus Iteritas or take the form of Manis Iteritas, a dark sound machine somewhere between industrial, EBM and techno. Or perhaps something that doesn’t even exist yet? Mysterious new firmwares are surely already in the works. Who knows what will happen?
