Noise Engineering’s Polydactyl Versio is a fresh take on multiband dynamics and is equally well-suited for single-signal processing as it is for the end of the signal chain.

Whether it’s coloration or cohesion, Polydactyl’s unique and transparent algorithm handles all challenges equally well. Inspired by Librae Legio, it guarantees optimized dynamics with all three bands. In addition, the module offers multi-band saturation, noise gate and limiting for ultimate control of all dynamic aspects of the applied sound source.

For each band there is a Ceiling control (higher level=more aggressive compression) and the bipolar Room control (left=expansion/right=compression). In addition, the global saturation level can be controlled, a push on the FSU button (or an applied high gate) sends all dynamics controls to maximum. Two dip switches control the split frequency of the different bands and the intensity of the noise gate.

Polydactyl Versio is part of the Versio DSP platform and transforms into a completely different effect by loading one of the alternative firmwares. The number of firmwares is constantly growing, they are available for free on the Noise Engineering website.

Features:

  • Multiband dynamics tool
  • Individual ceiling and room control for low/mid/high bands
  • LEDs for level display of the low/mid/high bands and sum
  • Saturation globally adjustable
  • FSU switch
  • Dip switches for noise gate intensity and split frequency of the individual bands
  • L/R audio input (if no signal is present for R, L is normalized to both inputs)
  • Extensive patching options
  • Stereo output
