The Tiptop Audio Buchla oscillator module – PROGRAMMABLE COMPLEX WAVEFORM GENERATOR MODEL 259T.

The idea behind the 259t is to link two oscillators, the Modulation Oscillator and the Principal Oscillator, through a section that includes Phase Lock, Amplitude Modulation, Pitch Modulation and Timbre Modulation. With this and the versatile Timbre/Harmonics section, the 259t can go far beyond classic subtractive synthesis sound design.

The two oscillators Modulation and Principal can be tuned manually via CV or optimised via Tiptop Audio’s innovative ART system. The Modulation Oscillator has a fixed triangle waveform and a selectable signal output that can be a triangle, square or sawtooth waveform and can be switched from LFO (Low-Frequency Oscillator) mode to a higher audio rate oscillator.

The Principal Oscillator runs at audio rate and can be driven into LFO mode and beyond audio rate via CV. It has three audio outputs: a fixed sine wave, a fixed square wave and a final output that provides infinitely complex waveforms via the timbre and harmonics section.

The timbre and harmonics section features three waveshapers (Wave Folder, Sawtooth, M-Shape), which can be crossfaded between their outputs and the VCO sine wave using the controls. This gives your sound the liveliness and complexity that made the concept of the Complex Oscillators so legendary and still makes it more than relevant today!

Not only the full name of this module is impressive, but also the whole concept, its versatility and its great sound! The 259t has a long history and has been available in various versions as a Eurorack module for several years – but with the Tiptop-Buchla collaboration you finally get the Buchla authenticated version.
