Clock O’Pawn mk2

The Shakmat Modular Clock O’Pawn mk2 is a versatile clock module that lets your system find the right groove.

Whether start, stop or reset, the right beat is no problem for Clock O’Pawn, regardless of whether you operate it via its own internal clock or send it an external sync signal from your MIDI fleet.
The clock finds its way out via four outputs: The clock out sends a 4ppqn signal that can be provided with groove and humanize parameters, while the 16th output provides a straight clock signal (also 4ppqn). The Accent Out provides a trigger sequence based on a variable accent pattern, while the Reset Output generates a variable start/stop trigger signal.
In addition to start/stop/reset, the transport section also offers tap tempo and BPM nudge functionality. Via the numerical display, the Load/Save controls in conjunction with the other three buttons can be used to call up a deeply editable menu, which offers tempo and MIDI control as well as groove and accent patterns. In addition to subtle variations and swings, there are also legendary hip-hop grooves (Roger Linn calling?) and performance names (Decce Accelerando). For the accents, you can select common variations (half-tempo, triolet) or sleek accent patterns (4:4:6/6:4:4/4:6:4/Turkish). Last but not least, the behavior of different sequencers can be coordinated or the needs of special clock receivers (e.g. LFOs or delays) can be taken into account in the setup. A total of 16 presets can be stored in the memory of the Clock O’Pawn, which can communicate with both the TRS-A and TRS-B MIDI standards.
